Suspects arrested for alleged home invasion attempt

Two Foley men have been arrested and charged with second-degree robbery for their alleged roles in a home invasion attempt on July 24.

Jarvis Markee Lymon, 25, and Ira Cornall Bodiford Jr., 20, are alleged to have knocked on the door of a home in Victoria Place Apartments on South Juniper Street on the day in question and tried to force their way inside, according to Lt. David White, lead investigator for the Foley Police Department. White said the suspects had a gun in their possession.

The homeowner was able to push against the door and keep the two men from entering, said White, and the two men fled the scene.

At the scene where police believe the suspects had parked their vehicle, White said footprints and tire tracks were found.

Also, along the trail from the apartment back to the vehicle, White said Investigator Tony Nelson found price tags from hooded hunting masks. Nelson proceeded to Wal-Mart where it was determined Lymon and Bodiford had purchased the masks "minutes before" the attempted home invasion occurred, White said.

The two suspects were arrested and confessed to Nelson, White said, adding the suspects' shoes matched the footprints found at the scene of the crime.
