Suzanne Spater, artist, died in her home in Fairhope, Alabama on Aug. 8, 2016, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 78.
She was born in Fairhope, and moved away with her family at age 7, living in Switzerland, France and Italy. She attended high school at the Overseas School Rome and later graduated from Wellesley College in 1960.
She married Jon Glazier in 1961 and they were later divorced.
She earned an MFA and settled in San Francisco. She taught art at San Francisco State for many years.
She was pre-deceased by her father, mother and brother.
