Sylvia Lowry Cupples, 79, of Foley, died Dec. 1, 2013 in Ridgeland, Miss. with her family by her side.
Mrs. Cupples was a member of First Baptist Church of Gulf Shores. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family.
Mrs. Cupples was preceded in death by her husband, George Allen Cupples Sr.; two sons, George Allen Cupples Jr. and Michael Wallace Cupples; mother, Edna Brister Lowry; and father, Hiram Henderson Lowry.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Smith of Vaiden, Miss. and Janet Westerfield of Greenwood, Miss.; one son, David (Lauren) Cupples of Byram, Miss.; daughter-in-law, Hazel Cupples of Orange Beach; three brothers, H. A. (Jessie) Lowry of Jackson, Miss., John (Helen) Lowry of Corinth, Miss. and Bobby (Claire) Lowry of New Orleans, La.; brother/sister-in-law, Perry (Gloria) Cupples of Huntsville, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley, with Brother Lloyd Stilley officiating.
Visitation will be at Pine Rest from noon to 2 p.m., prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Tom Hunt, Charlie Blades, John Morgan Hughes, Matthew Cupples, Dwayne Brewer and Kyle Smith.
