GULF SHORES — The Tap & Still has opened its doors in Gulf Shores as a new spot for burgers, wings and drinks.
Located at 807 Gulf Shores Parkway, the chain, which according to their website started in the Caribbean in the U.S. Virgin Islands, has found its way to the Gulf Coast, residing along the banks of the lagoon, just before you cross the bridge into the main strip, offering outdoor seating and live music. The spot was most recently High Tide Daiquiris & Mimosas.
The Tap & Still is not like any traditional burger joint. The moment you sit down, you get to customize a hamburger or cheeseburger through a paper menu you fill out and hand to your server. Cooks will then make your burger to your liking on quarter-pounds of beef patty, whether it be a single patty or double.
Along with traditional burger toppings such as tomatoes, lettuce, onions and pickles, you can also top your burger with jalapenos, green pepper and grilled mushrooms, and for a couple dollars more, you can throw in a fried egg or bacon, which then can be completed with sauces such as mustard, ketchup, relish, A1 sauce, barbecue sauce and hot sauce.
Outside of burgers, they also serve both regular and spicy chicken tenders and sandwiches such as a spicy chicken sandwich, a veggie burger, grilled cheese, patty melts and a BLT. Also available are wings, salad bowls and Conecuh sausage dogs, all of which can be enhanced with a side of french fries.
If you happen to have a sweet tooth, you can finish off your meal with a funnel cake, available regularly or with cinnamon and honey.
The Tap & Still is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to midnight.
