John Tardieu, 61, a native of Boston, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009 at a local healthcare facility after a brief illness.
He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church where he sang in the church choir. He co-directed the Fairhope Film Series, was a Red Cross frequent donor, member of Bay Area Runners, Catholic Men’s lunch group.
He was a resident of Fairhope for 26 years, a volunteer with Eastern Shore Affordable House Home Repair Program and retired from US Customs/Homeland Security division.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth H. “Betty” Wilkinson of Fairhope; brother, Dan Tardieu of Providence, R.I.; niece, Michele Mantia of East Bridgewater, Mass.; other relatives and friends.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. with a memorial Mass at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with the Rev. Steve Williams as celebrant.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Catholic Charities Appeal, P. O. Box 230, Mobile, AL 36601-0230.
