FOLEY — South Baldwin’s original tasting and sampling event will be held Tuesday, Sept. 27 at Foley Civic Center. The 26th edition of the “Taste of South Baldwin” will smack of carnival. “Mardi Gras — Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler” is the theme.
“We usually sell out for this event, and we hope to do the same this year,” said Sonna Reynolds, event chairman.
“Proceeds from the Taste benefit Foley Optimist Club youth projects such as scholarships for local graduates, youth athletic programs, essay and oratorical contests, and our annual Christmas party for underprivileged children.”
Among the restaurants and vendors Reynolds said will be on hand for the tasting event are O’Charley’s, Cosmos Restaurant & Bar, Cobalt the Restaurant, Peng Garden, Lambert’s Café, Zaxby’s, Sweet Home Farms, Cain’s Piggly Wiggly and Coca-Cola Bottling Co., “just to name a few.”
“Taste of South Baldwin,” which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 27, is sponsored by Baldwin EMC, Bancorp South, Citizens Bank, Riviera Utilities, Safety Coatings, United Bank, Ebert Agency, Hutchinson Moore & Rauch, New Horizons Credit Union, and Petal Pushers Flowers & Gifts.
Tickets for “Taste of South Baldwin” are available for a $20 donation and can be purchased at Citizens Bank in Foley, United Bank in Foley, and the city of Foley. For additional information concerning the event call Reynolds at 251-747-4128.
