BAY MINETTE, Ala. — Voting was brisk Tuesday as Baldwin County residents cast their ballots on a referendum which would provide a 1-cent sales and use tax with a three-year duration which would provide funds for the financially strapped public school system.
Baldwin County Probate Judge Adrian Johns said he would not be surprised if there was a 25 percent turnout.
“This is a much better turnout than we normally have on special elections,” Johns said Tuesday, about two hours before polls closed.
Results will be posted tonight on baldwincountynow.com, and the county’s Website at co.baldwin.al.us. Click on Probate Office, then elections.
