GULF SHORES, Ala. — Team STYLE at Reflexions Hair Salon gifts the child clients of the Christian Service Center with hairstyles twice a year, at Christmas and back to school.

Team STYLE started three years ago during the oil spill - business was down, folks were sad and feeling the pinch. The stylists at Reflexions wanted to help the community, but like many of us during that time, extra money was hard to come by.

Deborah Davis, owner of Reflexions said the stylists decided, “We may not have money to give, but we can cut hair” and Team STYLE was born.

Team STYLE – Stylists Teaching Youth Love and Education – has expanded a bit beyond just haircuts. When the youths come into the salon, they are given a goodie bay with a new toothbrush, comb and hairbrush.

While giving the clients their new hair styles, the stylists also give them loving words and hygiene education. Team STYLE talks with the adults who bring the kids in, too, giving them tips as well. You will also find Team STYLE actively supporting breast cancer research.

In its 22nd year, the Christian Service Center is a”Hand Up” rather than a “Hand Out” agency. Clients are given immediate emergency aid as well as guidance on finding solutions to problems.

The CSC is a 100% volunteer agency funded by the churches of Pleasure Island, various community organizations, including the United Way of Baldwin County, and interested individuals. For more information please call the CSC at 251-968-5256 or visit our web page, www.cscgs.com.
