MOBILE, Ala. — Shortly before 8 a.m. Friday, May 8, several teenagers were riding a John Deere farm tractor to Fairhope High School to celebrate “Senior Day.”
They were traveling north on Baldwin County Road 13 and stopped at the intersection of County Road 32. When the tractor began moving again, John Johnson, 18, of Fairhope apparently fell from the tractor and is believed to have been run over by it.
He was flown to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola for treatment of what was described as “significant, but non-life threatening injuries.”
According to the Alabama Highway Patrol, the Fairhope Police Department responded initially and was on scene when troopers arrived.
