William Harold Thames Sr. of Robertsdale died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007.
He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran serving bravely during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5658, Elberta. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 99, Foley.
Survivors include his wife Velma Waters Thames of Robertsdale; two sons, Tami (Tanya) Thames of Spanish Fort and William (Susan) Thames II of Robertsdale; two daughters, Ruth Ann (Billy) Hughen of Robertsdale and Linda (Mike) McElhaney of Robertsdale; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and visitation were held Wednesday, Sept. 12 at Rosinton United Methodist Church with VFW Chaplain Eddie Waters officiating. Interment with military honors followed at the New Cooper Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Cason Funeral Service, Foley.
