Thanks expressed for benefit participation

Dear Editor,

The family of Michael B. Hart would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in making the benefit on Nov. 10 such a big success. There were so many that contributed to this need, and we want to recognize those who supplied food and supplies.

Perdido Beach Baptist Church, Wallace Fish Co., Road Kill Café, Chick-fil-A, Berean Baptist Church, Open Door Baptist Church and Fishermen Baptist Church.

Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Young and all the men and ladies who took care of getting the fish ready to fry and frying the fish and the hushpuppies. Thank you, also, to the ladies who made the wonderful cakes and cookies for the bake sale.

Michael had his leg amputated just below the knee in May of this year and had gotten his prosthetic and was doing fairly well, in September, when he was diagnosed with colon and liver cancer, stage four. What a shock!

Just a little background about Michael: He graduated from Foley High School, went to Faulkner State Junior College, worked as a police officer for Foley and was a deputy for the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department until God called him into the ministry.

Michael and his wife Teresa have been Baptist missionaries to Mexico for the past 13 years, sent out by BIMI (Baptist International Mission Board) in Chattanooga, Tenn., and are sponsored by Good Samaritan Baptist Church in Birmingham. They were planning to return to Veracruz, Mexico in January. This will not be possible, as planned.

A bank account has been set up for Michael at Wells Fargo Bank, formerly Wachovia, 700 S. McKenzie St., Foley.

Please make checks payable to: The Benefit of Michael B. Hart.

Thank you for your continued prayers. God is still in control.

Sincerely,

The Hart Family
