The Haven Selects Volunteer of the Quarter

Fairhope, Ala. - The Haven Adoption Guarantee Animal Shelter is proud to name Janet Taverna as our Volunteer of the Quarter.

Taverna has been volunteering with the Haven for 6 and a half years. During that time, she has helped in various ways such as at adoption events and fundraisers. She's also been a frequent foster "mom" for some of the Haven's dogs and, according to Executive Director Mike Graham, "she does a great job!"

She is presently volunteering at The Haven's Resale Shop, which is her primary volunteer venue.

"Janet thoroughly enjoys helping at the Resale Shop," says Volunteer Coordinator Kathie Ono. "She likes talking to people and promoting The Haven."

"We are proud to have her as one of our dedicated volunteers."

If you are interested in volunteering at The Haven, call 929-3980 or go to havenforanimals.org to complete a volunteer application.

The Haven rescues, re-habilitates and re-homes more than 900 animals each year, serving Baldwin County since 2000. The non-profit animal shelter is responsible for leading the four municipal animal control shelters into creating a no-kill society for companion pets, caring for more than 70 homeless cats and dogs at the shelter on any given day, and finding loving homes for these homeless, injured, neglected, abused and abandoned animals. All animals are vaccinated, evaluated both behaviorally and medically, fed, watered and marketed until they find their forever home.
