Fairhope, Ala.—Good Grief, Charlie Brown! “A Charlie Brown Jazz Christmas Concert” will be coming to the Mobile Civic Center Theater on Saturday, December 17 at 7 p.m. Started by local artist John Milham in 2008 as a jazz trio performing the music of Vince Guaraldi’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas”, the third-annual presentation will also include the popular local Mobile band, Roman Street, as its opening act, as well as vocalist and guitarist Lisa Mills. The Jubilee Children’s Chorus and Center Stage Youth Choir of Fairhope will also be part of the show, welcoming guests as they arrive. Advance adult tickets are $15, $20 at the door, and children under 12 are $5.
This year, a portion of the proceeds will be going to The Haven, an adoption-guarantee animal shelter located in Fairhope. The Haven provides shelter for abused, abandoned and neglected animals, treating them with love, respect, and medical care. Through education and volunteer programs, The Haven promotes community awareness of pet over population and responsibility. In addition to a small staff, The Haven is a non-profit agency who depends on volunteers, donors and benefits such as the Christmas Concert to continue their life-saving work.
