The Haven to celebrate 25 years of lifesaving at Tails of Hope Gala

Posted

The Haven for Animals will mark a quarter century of lifesaving work with its second annual Tails of Hope Gala on Thursday, Sept. 25, at The Venue, 105 S. Section St., Fairhope.

The cocktail-style event will run from 6 to 9:30 p.m., bringing together animal lovers, supporters and community partners for an evening of celebration, food and music.

According to a news release, the gala has quickly become a flagship fundraiser for The Haven, supporting programs that include medical care, adoptions, community outreach, low-cost spay and neuter services, Trap-Neuter-Return for feral cats and community cat initiatives. This year’s event also honors the legacy of Dr. Theresa Marshall, the nonprofit’s founder, and the thousands of animals whose lives have been transformed by The Haven across Baldwin County and beyond.

“For 25 years, The Haven has been able to save and transform lives because of the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our volunteers,” Michael Graham, executive director of The Haven, said in the release. “Their compassion has carried us this far, and with their continued support, we look forward to another 25 years of giving pets and their human companions second chances together.”

Guests at the gala will enjoy live performances by Mr. Big & the Rhythm Sisters, a jazz and R&B band known for high-energy, interactive shows. Tito’s Handmade Vodka “Puptail” cocktails, assorted beverages, and hors d'oeuvres from Tamara’s Downtown will be served throughout the evening.

Cherish Lombard of WKRG News 5 and Glenn “Qtip” Johnson of Cumulus Media will return as co-emcees, continuing their long-standing support for local animal rescue and welfare initiatives.

The event is presented by Admiral Shellfish Company and the Claudia E. Graf Charitable Trust. Dorothy Toth, chairperson of the Tails of Hope Gala, said the celebration will be especially meaningful this year.

“The Tails of Hope Gala is always a special night, but this year will be our most meaningful yet,” she said. “We’re marking a milestone and inviting supporters old and new to be part of something unforgettable.”

Tickets, sponsorship opportunities and auction donations are available at www.havenforanimals.org or by contacting Dorothy Toth at tailsofhope@havenforanimals.org or (251) 270-1170.
