Many scientists today believe that when “life force” is given the opportunity to work, physical bodies will be stronger and more able to recover from disease. Often it is observed the harder an individual works the sounder the body becomes, for such is nature! However, if the individual stops working, wishing only to keep physical existence, life force seems to flee, and weakness ensues. When an individual becomes ill and wants to get well, the question should be, what can they do for the problem. Family, friends or people in general recover faster and easier by making the best and most of life. Thinking about, trying to lay the blame on something or someone, as to why the disease or condition manifested itself, is not going to help. Bringing what one thinks into action, rather than worrying about the symptom, disease or condition after the diagnosis and prognosis is made is the important issue. Sickness and injury are a part of life, people need to think about how much they could improve their world rather than how bad they are. Heart disease, Stroke, Diabetes, and a hundred other diseases are just like injury and pain from osteoarthritis, low back, neck, wrist or hip pain. They all take time and effort to heal and get better.

Innate Intelligence (life force) is at work incessantly for the individual’s benefit. It is one’s own responsibility not to let life force become blocked, confined or altered. The physical body possesses the inherent capabilities of regeneration and repair. The innate life force functions at its peak in infants and small children, but as age and growth occur, so does the mind. An individual becomes gradually less and less innately directed. This is precisely why we must address the consideration, at this point, to that of the mind and not of body. Innate life force will always be working toward homeostasis within the environment. Innate is not dependent upon the mind but is supported by its function.

Since the body is the reflex action of the mind, one must try in every way not to think and talk disease. This is difficult for a person, as they wish to describe their feelings and make sure everyone understands and sympathizes with their plight. But one must learn to empathize and not sympathize, not dwell upon or fear a continuance of the illness. This is especially true in the case of the nervous, chronic fatigue or the hypertensive syndrome patient. They let fear and nerves exacerbate the condition. People who have stomach problems are often the nervous type. Those who are able to get their mind off the condition, even for a few hours, or one day, find a great deal of improvement in that condition. This is also true of many other disorders (that is, out of order, without order and harmony). They are without homeostasis, or systemic balance. If one desires to be helped one must begin by giving up the thoughts of the sickness and disease and think positive and help the doctor direct the healing process.

Not many years ago, Dr. Hans Selye of the Institute of Experimental Medicine and Surgery at the University of Montreal, as well as today’s Carnegie Mellon’s Laboratory for the Study of Stress found through research on the body’s physiological response to stress that much discomfort and disease can be avoided by having the proper positive feelings toward oneself and others.

In the bestseller, How To Be Your Own Best Friend, Newman and Berkowitz state: “There is no magic switch for happiness and success. But there is an attitude. To take responsibility for our lives means a profound change in the way we approach everything. Many people are literally their own worst enemy. If you decide you want to help yourself, you can do the things that make yourself feel good about yourself instead of the things that make you feel terrible. Why should you do what gives you pain when it’s just as easy to give yourself joy?” This attitude has direct relatedness to everyday lives. The approach to every hurdle in life is just as important, and has as great influence on health, as the reaction to any of the larger health events. Keeping a positive attitude toward daily problems, for this example strengthens the ability to clear the next hurdle, whether in business, marriage or daily relationships.

It has been established by clinical studies at the University of California biophysics lab that “bioelectrical energy current flows through the body”. This is now possible to measure and study in a clinical setting, by a method somewhat like the functioning of a “lie detector,” based on a individual’s emotional impulses as are registered by electrical current then transferred to computer or data base. Every feeling has an electrical current, whatever type of impulse it may to be. When it is abnormal it will cause a change in the electrical wave pattern. When this pattern changes, it means the normal bioelectrical energy flow of the body has begun to be affected and consequently abnormal changes may be occurring on the cellular level. Indeed, then, physiologically speaking, every thought and emotion makes a biological change in the body, whether it is a positive change or a negative change.

Think of “good health,” and a positive (good) electrical current passes through every cell. Think of “ill health”, and destructive electric current passes through agitating each cell and tissue. So, to help maintain good health, always think of “good thoughts” without worrying about any disease or sickness that may be present. Good sound health – is what we must dwell upon for healthy electrical impulses to flow through the body systems. If one thought seems not to be strong enough, then think, meditate and “pray” for good sound health – over and over, many times throughout the day. Sense the healthy waves of energy moving through the whole body, and this will create the positive mental attitude needed to get well.

Pharmaceuticals also cause a biochemical reaction or give a physical stimulus sometimes it is hard to say why beneficial reaction results from the drug interaction is it because the patient believes in the efficiency of the drug? When the medication is taken the mental waves are stirred in a positive manner; then the biochemical reaction causes a stimulus to the nervous system, and at this point, if the person has built up enough immunity with the medicine, the chemical input may have positive results, initiating the healing spark that starts the body back on its road to recovery. Basically it is the consciousness of good sound health that brings about the appropriate result in the body. Begin the road back to good health by taking the attitude, “getting better and stronger every moment. Believe and think of ‘self’ as being sound and vigorous. Know that healing currents of energy are incessantly flowing through the body to maintain good health.”

Be assured, this is a good health practice, though many in a condition of ill health seem to think the contrary. They always seem to be complaining, hurting, and in pain, feeling bad, or just sick, thus catalyzing and stimulating a destructive energy current.

Last winter, recall, the economy was bad. There were hard-fought state elections, plus a viral epidemic scare. The present poor economic situation is being given more and more publicity and the propaganda is continuing to mount to the point where people with secure positions and jobs are worried. In this way the “jobless rate has been a mental scare” and created in the minds of the people even with good secure jobs and they are becoming a part of a pseudoepidemic which has been created primarily by the media. Such displays are very suggestive and consequently many people fall victim to this mental state.

Our entire culture would be much better benefited by clear recognition that one can enjoy good mental, physical and emotional health by helping the life force to be released in a positive manner. This positive mental attitude may not be the answer to all physical problems, but it will surely improve the general state of consciousness and in turn will promote better total health for individuals, which in turn provides a positive atmosphere for the health of the economy to rebuild. To me its just good common sense to keep a positive outlook on our health and that of our Nation.
