GULF SHORES, Ala. — The Islander newspaper is seeking donations for a local family in need. A husband and wife need Christmas presents for their children. Their two 10-year-old boys would like Hulk Hands and remote control cars; a 3-year-old boy would like cars and trucks; and an 18-year-old girl is wishing for jewelry and CDs. The Islander is also collecting food, money, gift certificates or donations from businesses to help the whole family out. Unwrapped donations can be dropped off at The Islander office, 128 Cove. Ave., Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The last day to drop off donations is Friday, Dec. 19.
