First Friday Art Walk – Fairhope
What: Visit local merchants in downtown Fairhope as they open late and highlight the art community. Art Walk happens every first Friday of the month.
When: Friday, Jan. 7 from 6-8 p.m.
Where: Downtown Fairhope

2022 E-cycling and Shred Day - Gulf Shores
What: Dispose of paper documents, tax information, utility bills, credit card statements and other items. Electronic items such as televisions, computers, printers and vacuums can also be disposed of. No need to leave your car, volunteers will pull them from the trunk for you.
When: Saturday, Jan. 8 from 8 a.m. to noon.
Where: Gulf State Park Pavilion

Kid Chefs Best on the Bay - Mobile
What: Guest chefs will work alongside some of the most talented kid chefs for a "mystery basket" style cookie challenge. Proceeds benefit The Cookery Project.
When: Saturday, Jan. 8 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Exploreum Science Center, 65 Government Street, Mobile Price: Ticket prices are $8 for ages four to 12 and $14 for all over age 12. No day of tickets will be sold. To purchase, visit thecookeryproject.org.

Ice Skating at The Wharf
What: Grab a pair of skates and enjoy some time of the ice.
When: Open daily until Jan. 17, times vary
Where: The Wharf in Orange Beach
Price: $15, general admission
