FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Theatre 98 in Fairhope presents “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940.” Despite the name, this show is not actually a musical. It is, however, a comedy. And there is a murder.

Set in the fabulous ’40s, this summer show is a real killer. It’s a fast-paced comedy whodunit, filled with surprises. You’ll be laughing and guessing right up to the end.

This show is perfect summertime entertainment. Take a break from the heat at Theatre 98.

As an added bonus, you will see, for the first time on our stage, a woman who has been working tirelessly behind the scenes for every single play, our production manager, Brenda Hedstrom. You will find her talent is not limited to production, she is a joy to watch onstage.

This wonderful cast is made up of veterans and newbies to the Theatre 98 stage, and they will provide an evening filled with laughter.

The play is directed by Timothy Guy, who brought you last year’s “A Nice Family Gathering.”

Show dates for the production are July 9-11 and 14-18. Showtimes for evening performances are 8, and 2:30 p.m. for Sunday matinees.

The general single admission price is $15, and a student single admission is $10.

Please note that in order to make more seats available to new patrons, Theatre 98 now offers a Wednesday night performance for which is not included in season ticket sales.

Of course, season ticket holders who need to change from their regular night for any reason will also be able to come to the Wednesday night performance.

The box office opens on July 6. Hours are 5:15-7:15 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday. The following week, the box office opens on Monday and has the same hours through Saturday.

To make a phone reservation, call (251) 928-4366, and leave a message with an evening phone number. The box office ladies will call to confirm.

You are welcome to pay over the phone with a credit card.
