FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Auditions for the one-act comedies, “A Marriage Proposal” and “The Boor,” by Anton Chekhov, will be held on Aug. 2 and Aug. 3, at 7 p.m., at the theater, which is located at the corner of Morphy Avenue and Church Street in Fairhope.
Directors Jonne and Becky Thornton are looking for men ages 25-70 and women ages 20-50.
Theatre 98 is always looking for new faces to put on stage, and no experience is necessary.
Almost every one of their productions has had at least one newcomer in the cast.
Auditions are held at the theater, most often about 10 weeks before the production opens.
While every director is different, he or she will as a general rule have the prospective actors read from the script in question, sometimes alone and sometimes with another actor.
It is never necessary to have a prepared audition monologue, but if an actor does have one, most directors will be happy to hear it.
