FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Spend an evening in the Stone Age at Theatre 98.

It is the dawn of time, and Ug and his intrepid band of cave-dwellers are lacking all the essentials of life: the wheel, fire and musical theater.

“Ug, the Caveman Musical” is the hilarious imagining of mankind’s very first musical comedy, from the first word to the final bow.

Spoiled divas, temperamental directors, backstage jealousies — some things never change.

Join a cast of familiar faces and “fresh meat,” including Michael Bankston as Ug, Anita Havel as Bandala, Gabe Willis as Arg, Cindy Cazalas as Tatata, Tom Godfrey as Bob, Casey Carter as Ig, Scotty White as Chief Oolookie and Mark Swalley as Fatalataba.

The production team includes Stage/Musical Director Marcus Willis, Technical Director Jonne Thornton, Production Manager Brenda Hedstrom, Stage Manager Jestina Price, Costume Designer Michelle Patton and Light/Sound Operator Andre Dimatteo

You’ll hear such delightful tunes as “Something We Call a Play,” “Where We’ve Never Gone Before,” and “The Cooking Song.”

Performances are Jan. 22-24, 27-31.

Showtimes are 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:30 pm.

Season tickets are $50 (for their four-play season), student season tickets are $25. Single admission is $18, with student single tickets $12 each.

The box office is open Monday through Saturday, from 5:15-7:15 p.m.

To make a phone reservation, leave a message with an evening phone number on the theater voice mail at (251) 928-4366, and the box office ladies will call to confirm.

Because seating at the theater is limited, they ask that you pay for your ticket within 24 hours of making the reservation.

You are welcome to pay over the phone with a credit card.
