This weekend's baseball and soccer playoff schedule

FAIRHOPE, Alabama — Tonight’s AHSAA baseball state playoff series pairings have been set, and four Baldwin County teams are still in the hunt for a state championship. AHSAA Class 6A soccer playoff first round pairings have also been set, and county teams will play tonight and Saturday.

In Class 6A baseball, the Baldwin County Tigers (26-12) will visit Volanta Park at 5 p.m. to face the Fairhope Pirates (31-6), while in Class 5A two-time defending champion Spanish Fort (29-7) will visit Faith Academy (18-9) in Mobile at 4:30 p.m.. In Class 3A the Bayside Academy Admirals (26-6) will host Opp (20-6) at the Bayside Academy Sports Complex in Daphne at 4 p.m.

The teams will play double headers tonight. If they split the double header, they will play an “if necessary” game on Saturday. Check AHSAA.com for updated “if necessary” times.

AHSAA baseball state playoffs second round pairings: Class 6A: Mary Montgomery (15-16) at Baker (24-9), Baldwin Co. (26-12) at Fairhope (31-6), Northview (19-21) at Enterprise (23-13), Prattville (32-4) at Central-Phenix City (27-13), Hoover (30-9) at Pelham (33-2), Vestavia Hills (20-7) at Spain Park (30-13), Pell City (30-14) at Oxford (31-11), Sparkman (25-17) at Buckhorn (32-10).

Class 5A: Spanish Fort (29-7) at Faith-Mobile (18-9), Russell Co. (38-10) at Charles Henderson (26-7), Brookwood (19-20) at Chilton Co. (31-5), Hueytown (35-6) at Briarwood (26-6), Pinson Valley (25-13) at John Carroll (21-4), Southside-Gadsden (20-13) at Walker (22-12), Hartselle (33-18) at Cullman (29-12), Athens (21-17) at Muscle Shoals (25-14).

Class 4A: W.S. Neal (22-10) at UMS-Wright (22-9), Alabama Chr. (21-11) at St. James (28-6), Bibb Co. Class 6A soccer playoffs: The Class 6A soccer state playoffs kick off this weekend. Today the Foley Lady Lions will visit Mary G. Montgomery at 7 p.m.

There is a full slate of games set for Baldwin County teams on Saturday. First, the Daphne boys and girls teams will host a double header, with the girls playing Baker at 3:30 p.m. and the boys playing Theodore at 5:30. Fairhope’s Lady Pirates will play Murphy at St. Paul’s in Mobile at 5:30 p.m. with the Fairhope boys playing Murphy at the same location at 7:30 p.m. Finally, Robertsdale’s boys will play Davidson at Trione Park in Daphne at 7 p.m.
