Thomas Carroll “T.C.” Benson, 79, a resident of Pensacola, passed away May 21, 2014 at Bayside Manor in Pensacola.

He was born Sept. 6, 1934 in Summerdale, and lived Pensacola for more than 70 years.

His only other residence was in Punta Gorda, Belize where he owned a bed and breakfast, TC’s by the Sea.

He is survived by his three children, Philip Benson (Julie Borsodi) of Oberursel, Germany, Beverly Benson (Pamela Farmer) of San Francisco, Calif. and Brenda Whalen (Dave Whalen) of Loveland Colo.; two grandchildren, Marina and Nicholas Borsodi-Benson; two sisters, Shirley Jensen and Earlene Henderson; two nieces; and four nephews.

Tom served his country for four years in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

His hobbies included deep sea fishing, cooking for large groups and eating good food.

The family expresses their gratitude and thanks to the staff at Bayside Manor, especially Cindy Rebber and April Neel, for their care and affection.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014, at 11 a.m., at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd. in Pensacola.

He will be buried at Pine Rest Cemetery in Foley.
