Thomas Evans “Tommy” Weatherford, 55, a native of Mobile, and a resident of Spanish Fort, died Wednesday, July, 13, 2011 at his home is Spanish Fort.
He was born March 26, 1956 in Mobile. He spent his early childhood in Mobile and Montgomery, moving with his family to Spanish Fort at the age of 10. He attended Marietta Johnson School of Organic Education in Fairhope and later became
a licensed hair stylist.
He went on to receive an Associate Degree in computer technology at Southeast College of Technology. He was the owner of Weatherford’s Hair Salon in Mobile during the 1980s and later owned a shop in Daphne.
He worked for several years in Atlanta and in recent years worked at Fantastic Sam’s in Daphne. He was a great animal lover, particularly of dogs and was devoted to his two Chihuahuas, Alex and Toby.
He was a lover of the arts and was a talented artist himself in several disciplines including drawing and painting.
He had a wry and infectious sense of humor that will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jennings Waller Weatherford and Mary Ruth Sikes Weatherford.
Survivors include sister, Linda (Michael) Sullivan of Daphne; niece, Christina (Trey) Evans of Daphne; nephew, Mark Hirschfeldt of Mobile; grand nephews, Jude, Asa, Gabriel and Dominic Evans; and many cousins.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 16Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne.
