Thomas Hospital Foundation hosts appreciation reception

FAIRHOPE, AL -- The Thomas Hospital Foundation recently hosted an appreciation reception with a Valentine’s Day theme for the Thomas Hospital Auxiliary. The reception included refreshments, the gift of a red and black tote bag, and several games of H-E-A-R-T (instead of B-I-N-G-O), which was led by William McLaughlin, administrator of Thomas Hospital and executive vice president, Infirmary Health.

Since Thomas Hospital opened in 1960, Thomas Hospital Auxiliary members have given countless hours of their time to Thomas Hospital. The Auxiliary has also given financially, including its most recent gift of $100,000 to the Thomas Hospital Foundation in September 2011. The auxiliary raises money primary through proceeds from the Thomas Hospital Gift Shop, and many additional fund raisers such as sales of jewelry, accessories, uniforms and books throughout the year.

Kathy Baugh, vice president, foundation services, Infirmary Health, expressed her gratitude to the auxiliary, remarking that the organization has donated more than one million dollars to the hospital through the foundation since its inception in 1993.

“You bring us to a level of excellence through what you do,” Baugh said. “You play a key role in making us awesome.”
