Carra Estelene Thomley, born Oct. 8, 1938 in Dunn, N.C., to Clarence and Carra Sykes Gainey, a resident of Molino, Fla., since 1958, died Monday, March 23, 2009.
She was an employee of Monsanto for 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Ava Jackson; and a brother, Harold Ganey.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, I.J. Thomley; son, Shelton (Sharon) Davis; daughter, Glenda (Doug) Hall); step-children, Ricky Thomley, Charlene (Roger) Azevedo, Darlene (Chuck) Bell, Renae (Ronnie) Christian and I.D. Thomley; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Wednesday, March 25 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 26 at the funeral home with Brother Dykes Strickling officiating. Interment followed at Pilgrim Rest Free Holiness Cemetery in Molino.
Pallbearers were Ricky Thomley, I.D. Thomley, Ron Miller, Keith Strickling, A.C. Sturgis and Elton Creighton. Honorary pallbearers were Dewayne Patterson, Chris Thomley and Larry Price.
Arrangements were made by Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, Cantonment, Fla.
