Three die in I-10 crash

LOXLEY, Ala. — Three people lost their lives in a one-car accident on Interstate 10 about 20 miles east of Loxley on March 30.

The vehicle, a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by Leo Stewart, 71, of Tallahassee, Fla., was traveling eastbound on the Interstate when it left the road and struck trees in the median. Stewart was taken to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola and is listed as being in critical condition.

Mary Angela Stewart, 71, of Tallahassee was taken to Baptist Hospital, but later died of her injuries. Sybil Berniece Infinger of Freeport, Fla., died at the scene. Gracie Stewart Schutz, 78, of Wewahitchka, Fla., was transported to Baptist Hospital but was also fatally injured.

According to State Police, Mary Stewart and Infinger were wearing seat belts. At least one of those killed was ejected from the vehicle.
