BAY MINETTE, Ala.— The Tiger Sharks Swim Team will kick off its season Tuesday, May 31, with practices at the Bay Minette Municipal Pool.
Practice sessions will be held Monday through Thursdays and will take place 8 to 9:10 a.m. for Intermediate & Advanced swimmers and from 9:15 to 9:55 a.m. for Beginners.
Registration is still open for those interested in joining the Tiger Sharks. The fee is $110 which includes a swim cap and T-shirt. The Swim Team is open to children ages 5- to 18-years. No previous experience is required and you do not have to be a member of the pool to participate.
Registration forms can be picked up in advance at Bay Minette City Hall and can also be downloaded from the city’s website at cityofbayminette.org.
Aimee Hadley returns as the Head Coach and she will be assisted by Sarah Catherine Caldwell and Tucker Clay.
Hadley swam competitively for many years with the BMST. She went on to compete with the Baldwin County High School Swim Team for four years and served as team captain. She made All-County Swimmer all four years. Hadley has worked as the Assistant Coach for the Tiger Sharks for three years and will now serve as Head Coach. She is a sophomore at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and will be marking her fourth year as a lifeguard for the Bay Minette Municipal Pool.
Caldwell began swimming at the age of six for BMST. She started to swim year-round for Southern Waters Aquatics Team in Daphne four years later. In eighth grade, she began swimming for McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, where she has been named All-County Swimmer in the 200 and 500 Freestyle, received Most Improved, and was a participant in the third place finishing State team in 2013. Since swimming with McGill-Toolen, the Lady Jackets placed first in state competition in 2012 and as a team, they were recognized as Silver Academic Medalists by USA Swimming.
Clay has been a long-time swimmer and will again serve as a lifeguard for the Bay Minette Municipal Pool. She has served in many leadership roles while a student at Baldwin County High School including senior class president. Clay attends the University of Southern Mississippi where she is Director of Crews for the Delta Gamma Sorority. She is also a member of the USM Dixie Darlings and served on the Student Council.

Swim lessons at BMMP:
Swim lessons will again be offered at the Bay Minette Municipal Pool for ages 3-years and older. The first session will be held June 13-21 and the second session will be July 11-21. Class time for both sessions will be 9 to 9:50 a.m. Monday through Thursday. The cost is $55 per child for members and $60 for non-members. There is a $5 discount for each additional child in the same family. Payment is due prior to first day of class. For more information, call the pool office 937-1367 or email at BMCityPool@att.net.
