James Ira Till, 90, a resident of Forest Home, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010 at W.F. Green Veterans Hospital in Bay Minette.

He served in the U.S. Army with the 41st Infantry in the South Pacific during World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Marie Till of Forest Home and Kay Till of Foley; three grandchildren, Jay Lowery, Kerri Douglas and Carter Lowery; five great-grandchildren, Austin Douglas, Jamie Lowery, Jackson Lowery, Autumn Lowery and Lillianna Lowery; two sisters, Doris Till of Montgomery and Nell Madaris of Hope Hull; two brothers, Wood Till Jr. of Sardis and Jerry Till of Braggs; nieces and nephews.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Covenant Hospice of Daphne, 1040 Stanton Road Suite D, Daphne, AL 36526.

Visitation will be hel dfrom 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29 at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home in Greenville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30 at Forest Home United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Bingham and Pastor Willie Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Home Cemetery with Masonic rites conducted by the memberts of Forest Home Lodge #270.
