Maude Etta Timbes, 93, a resident of Montrose since 1949, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 at a local healthcare facility.
She was a founding member of Theater 98 in Fairhope and one of the founders of the Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival. She was also a charter member of the Montrose Garden Club and she was an accomplished artist, actress and writer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris W. Timbes, founder of Timbes and yeager, the very first advertising firm in Alabama.
Survivors include a son, Graham (Maggie) Timbes of Montrose; two daughters, Billye Timbes of Montroes and Mary Lois Timbes Adshead of Hoboken, N.J.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Private burial will be at Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile.
Arrangements are by Hughes Cremation & Funeral Service, Daphne.
