Tommy Daniel Carlton, age 65, born in Bay Minette, AL and a resident of Uriah, AL died Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Providence Hospital.
He was a Staff Sergeant (retired) for the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of Vietnam. He was Past Master of Bay Minette Masonic Lodge #498, a member of Stockton Masonic Lodge #142, a 32° Degree Scottish Rite and a member of VFW #3568 Bay Minette. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Louise (Young) Carlton of Uriah; seven children, Stoney (Maryann) Shiver of Rabun, Denny (Angel) Carlton of Crossroads, Tony Carlton of White House Fork, Justin Smith of Uriah, James Smith of Uriah, Katie McHugh of Bay Minette, AL and Patrick McHugh of Washington, DC; four brothers, Clarence Carlton of Canoe, AL, Billy Joe Carlton of Flomaton, AL, Jimmy Wayne Carlton of Canoe, AL and Johnny Ray Carlton of Eufaula, AL; one sister, Pat White of Nokomis, AL; eight grandchildren, Kole Carlton, Amber Carlton, Summer Shiver, Julie Reid, Marissa Milstead, Tony Milstead, Tristen Maddox and Katelynn McHugh and three great grandchildren, Alex Clayton, Camden “Chunk” Clayton and Guinevere Tatl Blackstock. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Reverend Pete Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery with military and Masonic honors. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
