Toro boys, girls sweep county track meet

GULF SHORES – The Spanish Fort boys and girls took home first place in Thursday’s Baldwin County Track and Field Championship in Gulf Shores.

Daphne’s girls finished second, with Baldwin County’s Lady Tigers taking third. Fairhope’s boys took second place, while Daphne’s boys placed third.

Spanish Fort’s Jackie Smith, Emma Everson, Jennifer Joyner and Ayne Delgado won the girls 4x800 meter relay. John Michael Trenier and Adam Adcock finished first and second in the boys 110 meter hurdles, while Nikki Riley won the girls 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash.

Spanish Fort’s boys swept the top three spots in the 1600 meter run. Brett Hanke took first in the event, while Ben Redman and Trevor Stevens placed second and third. The Toro boys also swept the top four spots in the 800 meter run. Redman, Hanke, Nicholas and Stevens took the top four spots.

The Toros swept the boys and girls 4x400 relays. For the boys, Chase Dickson, Michael Conniff, Nicholas Davidson and Keller Davis took first. For the girls, Jackie Smith, Devin Clark, Bria Gipson and Aren Valerie won the event.

Toro girls Jennifer Trenier and Latifa Thomas took first and second in the shot put, and Lauren Davis placed first in the triple jump and second in the long jump. Devin Clark won the girls high jump for Spanish Fort, while Davares Ambrose won the event for the boys.

Ethan Rich took second place in the boys discus throw for Spanish Fort.

The Foley Lion boys team of D’Marsjae Casey, Bob Pugh, Caleb Autrey and Cedrix Reed won the 4x100 relay. Daphne’s girls team of Sierra Patterson, Destiny Dale, Samira Dale and Brittany McConico won the 4x100 relay. Daphne’s McConico won the 100m hurdles, and Lady Trojan Kelsie Keegen won the 300m hurdles. DHS’ Amber Powell won the girls 1600, and Trojan Tyrell Holloway won the 100m dash.

Chris Tilley won the 300m hurdles for Gulf Shores, and Lady Dolphin Erin Brett won the 800m run.

Joshua Autrey won the boys 200m dash, while teammates Nigel Trotter and Cedrix Reed finished third and fourth for Foley.

Amber Powell won the girls 3200m run for Daphne, while Nic Fasanello and Shawn Hinton took first and third for Fairhope’s boys in the 3200.

Emily Brett took first place for Gulf Shores in the javelin throw, while twin sister Erin Brett took third.

Fairhope’s Michael Phillips placed first in the boys shot put, while Daphne’s Michael Pierce finished second.

In the girls long jump, Daphne’s Kelsie Keegan placed first while teammate Sierra Patterson took third.

Fairhope’s Pydrae Carroll was first in the boys long jump, while Foley’s Bob Pugh finished third.

Daphne teammates Brianna Johns and Serenity Lamprakes were second and third in the girls triple jump behind Spanish Fort’s Lauren Davis.

Pydrae Carroll took first for Fairhope in the boys triple jump just ahead of Foley’s Caleb Autrey.

Gulf Shores swept the top three spots in the girls discus throw. Emily Brett was first, followed by Erin Brett and Allison Taylor.

Michael Phillips won the boys discus throw for Fairhope.

Fairhope’s boys 4x800m relay team (Devon Burdett, Nic Fasanello, Shawn Hinton and Richard Zimmerman) took first in the event. The Gulf Shores boys team of Drew Tranchina, Brandon Silvers, Jaxson Cales and Daniel LaBorde finished third.

Baldwin County Tigers finish third, sixth

The BCHS girls took third in the county meet, while the boys placed sixth.

Shanyce Spence won the girls 400 meter run, took second in the 200 meter dash and placed third in the 100 meter dash. Spence was a member of the BCHS girls 4x100 team (Spence, Savannah Viega, Britney Hadley and Chelsea Hale) that placed third. Toneshia Smith placed third in the girls shot put, and Nakea McDougal was second in the high jump.

Baldwin County’s Elijah Chapman placed second in the boys high jump.

Golden Bears take fifth

Robertsdale’s boys team placed fifth, while its girls were sixth in the county championship.

David Orr won the boys Javelin Throw and Taylor Thompson placed third in the discus throw for Robertsdale. Forrest Hammond placed third in the 300 meter hurdles.

For Robertsdale’s girls, Tyler White finished third in the 100 meter hurdles, Rachel Lomax took second in the 1600 meter run and 3200 meter run, and Kellen Shirley placed fourth in the javelin throw.
