SPANISH FORT, Alabama – A three-run sixth inning broke a 1-1 tie to put the Spanish Fort Toros up and left visiting Baldwin County with a last at-bat chance in the top of the seventh.

But the Toros held on for a 4-1 win in the second game of their Mardi Gras day double-header with the Tigers.

SFHS got the sweep after a 13-3 win in the opener. BCHS took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Jordan Bankester led off with a single and later scored on a fielders choice RBI by Jimmie Johnstone. The Toros evened the score in the third on a steal home. The Tigers loaded the bases in the fourth with no outs, but had a double play call changed after officials conferred to a triple play to end the threat.

Mike Farnell came on for SF in the fifth inning and went on to get the win in relief. He struck out four and issued no hits or walks through three more innings. Hunter Beard  drove in the go-ahead run for Spanish Fort which improved to 9-2. Jesse McCord singled and Cody Puckett doubled.

•In the first game the Toros broke away in the third for six runs when Hunter Beard doubled in two runs,  Brian Lane and Jesse McCord each doubled in one while Gunner Hendrix and Hunter Stokes each had an RBI single.
