SPANISH FORT, Alabama—Spanish Fort built leads of 20 points twice over the Golden Bears, but Robertsdale kept coming to narrow the gap both times to single digits before the Toros could celebrate a 62-53 home win Monday night.

The Toros (4-0) put on a free-throw clinic in the second quarter hitting 15-of-15 at the line on their way to a 31-15 lead at the half. The Bears' 27-point run in the fourth period narrowed the gap to the final nine.

Reagan Eubanks led Spanish Fort and the floor with 19 points while teammates Quinn Atkinson added 11, Grant Schumacher 10 and Carter Jones eight points for the Toros who finished with a 78-percent approval rating at the line.

Lonnie Dailey's 13 points (11 in the final eight minutes) led the Bears and Alphonso Stewart scored seven for Robertsdale which made 13-of-23 (57 percent) from the line.

Spanish Fort boys and girls teams will host Daphne in a neighborly rivals' showdown Thursday night (a change to originally published schedules) at 7:30 p.m. for varsity boys, 6 p.m. for varsity girls.
