Toy gun tarnished Jubilee Festival

Taking our kids to the Jubilee Festival this weekend, the children had a great time, especially in Centennial Park where they had many hands-on, planned activities.

Our kids enjoyed creating flowers, making maracas, face painting and putting handprints on the wall but, I had to draw the line with the wooden Uzis.

Whose idea was that? I can understand wooden swords or bows and arrows, but Uzis? Hello?

Our kids are surrounded by enough violence and to have that encouraged at a family event is seriously disappointing and really brought a damper to the whole day for my family.
