Oscar GeorgeTraczewitz, 91, a native of Milwaukee and a resident of Fairhope, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 in Fairhope.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He received both a BS and MA degrees in forestry from the University of Michigan.  He was a past president of Forest Farmers Association. He was a former director of American  Pulpwood Association and a member of the Society of American Foresters. He retired from International Paper Inc. in 1980 after 39 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; and son, Terrence Traczewitz.

Survivors include two children, Oscar Traczewitz II of Collierville, Tenn., and Patti Haynie of Mobile; four grandchildren and seven  great-grandchildren.

Visitation begins at 2 p.m. with a memorial service at 3 p.m. Monday, May 10 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Ecumenical Ministries Inc. 564 Fairhope Ave., Fairhope, AL 36532.
