The PAA is sad to report the unfortunate and tragic loss of one of our own, Lance Eslava. Those of you who knew him will understand the magnitude of our loss. On Feb. 3, Lance passed away as a result of a motor vehicle accident in south Baldwin County.

Lance's talents will be greatly missed by those he touched in his life. From his students here at the Art Center, whom he taught in his very unique way the basics of drawing and creating, to the festival goers that he entertained with his caricature creations each year at Art In The Park, The Hot Air Balloon Festival, The Annual Shrimp fest and Uptown Foley events.

Lance T. Eslava, age 34, a resident of Magnolia Springs, was the owner of Hooligan Heads in Gulf Shores. He will be remembered as an amazing artist and art teacher having influenced many in his community and around the world. Along with his art, he was a loving, devoted father foremost and a certified rescue diver at Down Under Dive Shop.

Lance is survived by three daughters: Logan, Jordyn and Eva; his mother, Dianne Eslava of Pensacola, Fla; father, Norman Eslava and stepmother, Edith of Foley; fiancee, Christina Beshears of Falkville; brother, Bryan Eslava and sister-in-law, Jessica of Magnolia Springs; nephew, Hunter Eslava of Magnolia Springs and aunts, uncles, family and friends. Visitation was held Feb. 5, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley. A mass of Christian burial was held Feb. 6, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Magnolia Springs. Interment followed at St. John The Baptist Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Performing Arts Association, 116 West Laurel Avenue, Foley, Ala. 36535 where Lance was very involved with the education and training of future artists.
