Travis Wilbon Pritchett

Travis Wilbon Pritchett, 71, a native of Jackson and a resident of Stockton for the past 20 years, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010 at a Mobile hospital.

He was a recording artist in the Country Music Hall of Fame with the 1959 hit record “Tell Him No,” a talented musician and song writer and attended the Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Stewart Pritchett and a grandson, Trampas Benjamin Pritchett.

Survivors include two sons, Travis Brian (Shondra) Pritchett of Stockton and Trampas C. (Laurie) Pritchett of Rabun; a daughter, Angela Travette Pritchett of Montgomery; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Gates of Mobile.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22 at Dean Holiness Church. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 the church with Helen Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Stockton Cemetery.
