ORANGE BEACH — The Treasures of the Isle Mardi Gras Krewe in Orange Beach is planning for its second Annual Chili Cook-Off at The Compleat Angler at the Wharf on Oct. 13.
The event will be from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. with a portion of the proceeds going to Mary’s Shelter. Tickets are $15 per person and children under 12 are free. Call today to get your application for entry into the contest. The cost to enter a team is $35 and teams must be on site by 8 a.m.
Prizes will be awarded for People’s Choice, Judge’s Favorite and Best Dressed Team. Also bring your best cornbread recipe to enter that contest as well.
Among other events are a silent auction, great food, chili tasting and voting for your favorite. Football games to view will be Alabama vs Missouri, Auburn vs Ole Miss, Kentucky vs Arkansas, Florida vs Vandy, South Carolina vs LSU, Tennessee vs Miss State.
