Morgan Thompson, 2010 Inernational Baccalaureate graduate of Fairhope High School and valedictorian, died in an auto accident while at orientation at LSU July 13. Bay Rivers Art Guild will be hosting a special exhibit of her artworks at their headquarters, 1704 6th Street, Daphne.
“There were a lot of smarts and a lot of arts in that little frame” so said Lynda Williams, Fairhope High School. art teacher
Chosen pieces of the 18-year-old’s artwork will be exhibited at BRAG, until October 6, Monday thru Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Guild.
While a student of Fairhope’s IB program, Morgan wrote, “To me, my art is not just a ‘one day fling’. It consumes my whole life until all that crosses my mind are the wild colors and paintings that surround me. At this point, I realize that my life is basically composed of a million tiny masterpieces, all located in a single spot. It is this purpose I stress in my artwork: the individual moments that, when put together, make up my person. And so, I decided to focus on as many ‘tiny masterpieces’ as I could that tell my story, the story of Morgan Thompson.”
