BAY MINETTE—Visiting Daphne erased a ten-point, fourth-quarter deficit and emerged with a thrilling 65-63 win over area rival Baldwin County Tuesday night before a full house in Bay Minette.

Coach Cedric Yelding's Trojans trailed 52-42 with just over six minutes remaining but outscored the Tigers 23-11 down the stretch to grab the victory. Daphne improves to 8-12 overall and 4-2 in the area while Coach

Robert Wills and his Tigers drop to 3-3 in the area and fall to 6-11 overall. Mike James paced the Daphne comeback with ten fourth-period points included three three pointers.

James, Deontaye Buskey, and Teion Stanton all ended up with 13 points apiece to pace the victors. Isiah Dortch, who hit seven threes in the contest, had a game high 33 points for Baldwin County. Blake Carnley added ten for Daphne while Anthony Scott had twelve for Bay Minette.

Both teams play Gulf Shores next with BCHS hosting the Dolphins on Friday evening in Bay Minette and Daphne entertaining Gulf Shores Tuesday in Daphne.

With Dortch blazing from outside, the Tigers raced to a 23-12 lead after one stanza of play. Dortch dropped in nine points in the first period while Scott added four and Alan Ikner and Germaine Williams both added long threes.

But a pair of jumpers from Carnley and threes from Buskey and Stanton kept the visitors close in the second quarter and two free throws from Carnley with :01 left before halftime cut the Tiger lead to 35-28 at intermission.

With Dortch, Scott, and Christopher Hooks scoring for Wills' crew, BCHS maintained a lead (46-40) after three periods of play. It was 52-42 when Jones caught fire and hit three threes and a free throw in the next four minutes to help cut the lead to 54-51.

A Todd rebound basket and a three point play from Buskey gave Daphne the lead and they pulled out six point lead on a Keyonte Mitchell basket with 1:30 left in the game. Back to back Scott baskets made it a two point game at 62-60 before Mitchell and Jones hit one of two each from the line for a four point lead.

Dortch then forced his way upcourt and drained a long three with :04 left to delight the packed Tiger crowd but Buskey made one of two with 1.6 seconds left to secure the win.
