BAY MINETTE, Ala. — Baldwin County Circuit Judge Charles Partin sentenced Troy MacDonald to life in prison without parole Thursday, after jurors took 17 minutes to find him guilty of capital murder in the death of Brianna Parish.

Prior to sentencing, family member Crystal Wallace told MacDonald he was “a monster” and that she will never accept what he did.

“I hope you sit in your cell the rest of your life and realize what you have done to the family and everyone who loved Brianna.”

The victim’s sister, Marie Parish, told MacDonald, “She loved me. I loved her. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was friendly and outgoing. I don’t know why you did this.”

MacDonald briefly took the stand and apologized to family members.

“To the family, I am sorry for the pain in your hearts and what you had to suffer through.”
