GULF SHORES, Ala. — Local artist Kathleen Tucker is offering art classes at Art Alley in Pelican Place in Gulf Shores on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, from 6-9 p.m.

Students will complete an 16-by-20-inch painting with canvas, acrylic paints and brushes supplied, or they may bring their own supplies and work on their own project with guidance from Tucker.

These classes are ideal for visiting artists who need space in which to work, or who did not bring their art supplies.

They are also ideal for the beginning artist.

Students are welcome to bring wine or other beverage.

Special Saturday class

“Painted Floor Cloth,” Jan. 30, 1-4 p.m.

Learn to create custom-designed, durable canvas floor cloths like those sold in art galleries for $100-$300.

Supplies provided are pre-primed floor cloth, hemming tape, paint in basic colors, brushes and protective finish.

Students may bring a piece for inspiration (sample of fabric, wallpaper, pictures) and any paint colors they wish to use.

Tucker, will help as needed for design ideas.
