Two injured in small plane crash at Jack Edwards National Airport

GULF SHORES, AL – Two males on board a single-engine light sport trike aircraft sustained non-life threatening injuries after crashing while attempting to land at Jack Edwards National Airport in Gulf Shores. The crash occurred on Wednesday afternoon at approximately 12:00 p.m. after the flight experienced a hard landing causing substantial damage to the left wing of the aircraft.

One male was transported by Life Flight to Sacred Heart Hospital of Pensacola and another was transported by ambulance to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley.

The Federal Aviation Administration was notified immediately and the accident scene has been released.

Jack Edwards National Airport has resumed normal operations and remains open for business.
