ELBERTA - The following officials ran unopposed and were approved to serve on the Elberta Town Council beginning next term: Steve Kirkpatrick in Place 1; Jeffrey Scott Ulrich in Place 3; Christopher Keeler Bourne in Place 4, and Vicky Helms Norris in Place 5.

Kirkpatrick and Norris both serve on the current town council.

Current mayor Jim Hamby and Daniel Melvin Trombley are running for the position of mayor. Bryan Jimmie Hoover Jr. and Teresa Z. Newton are running for Place 2.

Election Day is Aug. 25. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
