ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — The Undertow in Orange Beach had its first Tailgate Party Cookoff on Sunday. The winning team was the Tigers consisting of Chad Little of Fairhope, Bill Evans of Daphne, Jessee Meade of Orange Beach, Lawana Stewart and Mike McMurray of Orange Beach. McMurray’s banana pudding, bottom left in the photo, was a big reason the Tigers took first place. Team Thibodeaux was the second-place finisher on the strength of its killer beef tips and rice. Tacky Jack’s Restaurant of Orange Beach was third. Between the $5 entry fee to eat and part of the donated sales receipts, almost $1,000 was raised for Alzheimer’s research.
