John Richard Underwood, 63, a native of Tupelo, Miss., and a resident of Orange Beach, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Gray and Elizabeth Underwood, and a brother, Terrell Gray Underwood.
Survivors include by his wife, Patricia Underwood of Orange Beach; two daughters, Jennifer (Eric) Kirkpatrick of Pensacola, Fla., and Kathryn (Joel) James of Niceville, Fla.; five grandchildren; sister, Emily (William) Gwaltney of Alpharetta, Ga.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. with a Celebration of Life memorial service at 2 p.m. held Saturday, Dec. 20 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Orange Beach Public Library, P.O. Box 1649, Orange Beach, AL, 36561.
