United Bank is inviting teens ages 13 to 18 in Southwest Alabama and Northwest Florida to get creative with their video cameras for a chance to win up to $3,000. The call for entries opens Nov. 1 for the 2013 Lights, Camera, Save! video competition sponsored by United Bank and the American Bankers Association.

The video contest encourages youth to use video to communicate the value of saving. United Bank will host the local level of competition and will select a winner in December to represent the bank. That person will then compete on the national level for a $3,000, $1,500 or $500 U.S. savings bond.

To compete, teens ages 13 to 18 should contact their local United Bank branch for a contestant entry packet that can be picked up in person or emailed to them. Contestants will record and submit their 30-to 90-second video along with all applicable forms during the contest period, which ends Nov. 30. Official rules and more details on the competition can be found at www.TeachChildrentoSave.com.
