United Way of Baldwin County Hosted its first Day of Caring

Posted

United Way of Baldwin County held its first annual Day of Caring event at the Snook Youth Club on April 20, 2012. This one-day event kicked off early at 7:00 am with over twenty participants from Publix ready to work. All five stores in Baldwin County embraced the concept of gathering volunteers to visit a nonprofit organization and lend a hand.

“Volunteers came together to complete several projects which transformed the grounds and facility, and will ultimately enhance the services provided,” said Rebecca Byrne, Executive Director of United Way of Baldwin County. “This is the first of many Days of Caring in our community.”

Projects included interior office painting, landscaping, staining and setting up outdoor picnic tables. Local sponsors provided materials and plantings.
