PERDIDO, Alabama — United Way of Baldwin County is gearing up for its inaugural Benefit Clay Shoot, set for Nov. 6 at Bushy Creek Clays in Perdido. WindCreek Casino & Hotel is serving as the tournament sponsor.

“We are so excited about the Clay Shoot at Bushy Creek Clays. Everyone that participates will have a great time but more importantly they will be helping a great cause,” said Marina Simpson, UWBC Executive Director. “The United Way of Baldwin County supports 32 agencies – including several in the North Baldwin community – and proceeds from the tournament will support these programs.”

The shotgun start is 1 p.m. for all teams. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., followed by a safety meeting for participants.

The cost to participate is $500 per four-person team ($125 per shooter). The course will cover 14 stations and mulligans will be available at four for $20. The format calls for teams of four to shoot a round 100 targets each from 14 stations. Each person will shoot six to eight targets at each station.

After all teams have finished their round, the scores from each team will be tallied and the team with the highest number of hits will win the event. All participants will be provided a T-shirt, lunch and beverage. Trophies will be awarded to the first, second and third place teams. A trophy will also be awarded to the male and female shooter with the highest score.

Shells are not included and participants are reminded to bring shot gun and shells, eye and ear protection, shell bag and rain gear.

This event is being held to raise funds for United Way of Baldwin County and the many programs it supports.
