“Unity” is the word of the day for this Saturday, as the city of Bay Minette will host its “Unity Day” celebration at the Douglasville campus.

Bay Minette City Councilwoman Dollie Mims said she hopes the event will be well attended and added there will be many activities available for people of all ages to enjoy.

“Our theme this is ‘Working Together Works’ and we’re trying to strengthen this community by bringing people together to draw an understanding that we are one community, all working together so that we can all be the best we can be,” Mims said.

Dr. Brenda Kennedy, dean of student development at Faulkner State Community College, will be the guest speaker and children’s activities, music and hurricane preparedness packages from the Baldwin County EMA are just a few of the expected amenities.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. and residents from across North Baldwin are encouraged to attend.
